Vitamin C is not Ascorbic Acid

9/6/2017

Whole food Vitamin C has six parts, and ascorbic acid is only one of them.

Here are the others:  1) Ascorbigen - the protein portion of V-C whose co-factor is copper;  2) Rutin - also known as Vitamin P,  which prevents capillary fragility;  3) Bio-flavonoids - teams with Rutin and supports immune function;  4)  K-Factor - helps with coagulation and clotting of the blood;  5)  J-Factor - works with iron aiding the transport of oxygen….leaving ascorbic acid.

If you drew a circle and divided it into 5 parts, the sixth part would envelop the entire circle.  This represents ascorbic acid, which protects and preserves the other five parts of Vitamin C. Ascorbic Acid is an anti-oxidant that prevents the other 5 parts of soft vitamin C from spoiling.  It is hard - almost crystalline.

The human body can handle only 50 mg of ascorbic acid at a time.  More than that and we run the risk of tissue damage!  Use food sources of Vitamin C, such as US grown organic fruits and vegetables, or the herbs high in vitamin C as found in OPT, NSL or ADR formulas by Dr. Loomis.
